The Cameroon Football Federation, (FECAFOOT), has said it would install the technical management and newly appointed Indomitable Lions technical staff on Friday, May 10.
The information is contained in a release signed on May 9 by its Secretary General, Blaise Diaunang.
This will take place at the headquarters of the Federation.
“This working session will lay the foundations for a fruitful collaboration between both units, the key to the success of our national team, soon to be engaged on several fronts, notably the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.” the release read in parts.
“The National Technical Director and his deputies on the one hand, and the Head Coach and his assistants on the other, are cordially invited,” it added.
This is coming amidst an ongoing fight between the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education and the Federation over the appointment of the Lions technical staff.
The Minister of Sports and Physical Education had appointed staff for that role. Fecafoot, led by Samuel Eto’o, acknowledged just the coach and his assistants among those the minister appointed.
It went ahead and appointed its team of people, whom it will be installing tomorrow.
What will become of those who have signed the contract with the minister?
In a previous letter, the Minister informed Eto’o that the appointment of the technical staff of the men’s senior team remains the prerogative of the government.
The fighting had to be halted by the intervention of FIFA, which asked both parties to engage and follow the law to settle the problem.
