FECAFOOT’s 2nd Vice President Boubakary Bello, dies at 65

Boubakary Bello, second vice-president of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) died on Tuesday, February 28, at the age of 65.

The elite of the Far North Region died of an illness at the Caisse Nationale de Prévoyance Sociale (CNPS) hospital in Maroua.

He was born on April 6, 1958, to a merchant father and became the third in a family of 17 children.

Reacting to his death, Samuel Eto’o Fils, President of FECAFOOT, regretted his death and hailed him for devoting a good part of his life to the service of football development in Cameroon.

At the sporting level, Boubakary Bello led the Regional League of the Far North and chaired the finance commission of FECAFOOT under the the federation’s ex-president, Séidou Mbombo Njoya.

Boubakary Bello equally served as the Mayor of Maroua 3 for several years.
