Cameroon customs authorities have continued their endless fight against the illegal smuggling of goods from Nigeria through Mamfe.
Reports say the operations of the Custom officers at the borders have seen them seize more than 10,000 bottles of Guinness beer, being smuggled from Nigeria.
The large stock seized by the Custom authorities was intended to supply the whole country through illegal channels.
It should be noted that the Cameroon Customs Authorities have made several strides in recent weeks to stamp out the phenomenon of illegal smuggling of goods into the country.
Recently, over 7 boxes containing 56 bottles of whiskey was seized in the South Region. Several bottles of wine and other assorted drinks were equally taken away from smugglers in the region and the traffickers arrested and detained.
The custom authorities in Cameroon have said reiterated their determination to fight illegal smuggling of goods into the country, as they believe that the country’s economy would go to great lengths.
