Fire Guts Shops At Douala Central Market

Several stores have been consumed by wild flames at the Douala Central Market.

According to reports, the fire broke out in a section of the central market late Monday afternoon. Over ten business places were consumed by the inferno.

The timely arrival of the Army rescue soldiers enabled that the flames be controlled.

No human life was lost but several commodities belonging to the business persons were reduced to ashes.

Fire outbreaks have hit Douala markets. Government’s pledge to assist afflicted traders are hardly fulfilled. The constant fire incidents are attributed to poor connection of cables.
