One of Cameroon’s football legends, François-Xavier Bekombo has reportedly died today July 14, 2023 at the age of 80.
Late Bekombo before his demise was one of the very few former lions left who had taken part in Cameroon’s very first participation at the African Cup of Nations in 1970 in Sudan, and 1972 on home soil.
Bekombo played out his professional career in the Cameroonian first division, and was captain of Caïman club de Douala. He was 2 times champion of Cameroon in 1968 and 1974, and also made several final appearances at the Cameroon cup finals.
