Some traditional rulers from the South West region of Cameroon have resolved to launch an appeal to the president to visa an evacuation of Chief Inoni Ephraim for proper medical attention.
The chiefs resolved this after visiting the former prime minister at the Yaounde General Hospital. The custodians of tradition from the South West say President Paul Biya in the same spirit of national dialogue should have pity on his former close ally no matter the crime he committed.
It should be recalled that this is not the first time traditional rulers from the South West region are pleading with him to ensure that the former PM gets proper medical health care.
Chief Inoni Ephraim took ill after he was brutalized during the prison riot at the Kondengui prison on the 22 of July 2019. Following the invasion of his cell by some inmates, the chief of Bakingili village in the South West region of Cameroon sustained severe injuries that have since then further worsened his health situation.
The former Prime minister and head of government is currently serving a twenty years jail term for his involvement in the Albatross plane affair, a sentence he has continuously described as unjust while claiming his innocence.
