Foumbot: Wife of man who attacked police station for ID card dies

The wife of a man arrested weeks back for vandalising a police station, has died. Foundikou Daouda was detained by security forces after he ransacked a police station in Foumbot, West region, demanding for his identity card.

The lady who was 9 months pregnant at the time of her husband’s arrest, had narrated to the public why her man had to vandalise the police station.

Her husband, she said, had been without his original national ID card for many years and kept facing challenges.

Whenever he sought to renew the receipt in Douala while awaiting the original, he was sent back to Foumbot where he made the ID.

That fateful day, Foundikou Daouda lost his patience after realising the original copy of the document had still not been produced.

His wife’s demise is said to come shortly after she put to birth. Her demise which comes at a time her husband remains detained, is another blow to him in trying times.
