France clinches Military Women’s World Cup title after defeating Cameroon

The Military Lionesses of Cameroon lost to France at the finals of the Military Women’s World Cup tournament.

France defeated Cameroon in a 2-1 score which automatically made them winners of the tournament.

Cameroon scored the first goal in the 24th minute through confidence.

France then came from behind to level scores through a goal in the early minutes of the second half.

A red card was awarded to Lionesses goalkeeper, Ngo Ndom for handling the ball outside the penalty area.

This reduced the Military Lionesses to 10.

Shortly after, France scored its second and last goal which marked a turning point for the team.

The match ended with a 2-1 score in favor of the French.

Many have attributed the issuing of the red card by the Referee to racism.

It is however the first time that an African country is able to make it to the Finals of the Military Women’s World Cup tournament.
