Cameroon’s brilliant run at the military world cup came to an end last night.
The Military Lionesses of Cameroon lost to France at the finals of the Military Women’s World Cup game.
France defeated Cameroon in a 2-1 score which automatically made them winners of the tournament.
Cameroon scored the first goal in the 24th minute of the game.
The score was however later balanced by France through a score in the early minutes of the second half.
A red card was given to Lionesses goalkeeper Ngo Ndom for handling the ball outside the penalty area. This reduced the Military Lionesses to 10.
Shortly after, France scored its second and last goal which marked a turning point for the team. The match ended with a 2-1 score in favor of the French.
It should be recalled that last night’s game marked the first time that an African country is able to make it to the Finals of the Military Women’s World Cup tournament.
