French Ambassador Lashed Out On Social Media After Reacting To Ngarbuh killings

Moments after reacting to the Ngarbuh Massacre, the French Ambassador to Cameroon has come under criticism for failing to mention the name of Ngarbuh village.

One social media user says Christophe Guilhou’s tweet was void of any sympathy and interest. “It loudly speaks of discharge of an unwarranted obligation”.

Other criticisms stemmed from the fact that the ambassador’s spokesperson also failed to mention other details of the incident including the number of deaths recorded. ” You say many died in a village, it would have been better if you stayed mute … you simply exposed your hypocrisy, ” wrote an angered social media user.

In a message earlier today, the spokesperson for the French Ministry of Foreign Relations, France said “We condemn the violence which has resulted in the deaths of a large number of inhabitants of a village in the North West Province of Cameroon, including children”.

“We offer our condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the Cameroonian people” he added.

Over 35 including pregnant women and kids were killed in the massacre when government soldiers stormed the village. Nine houses were burnt to ashes.
