French politician, and Member of Parliament, Sebastian Nadot says he and his colleagues are pressing for the Anglophone crisis to be discussed at the United Nations Security Council.
Nadot in a recent tweet has called on his colleagues to join him in pressing for the crisis to be given attention.
“As a representative of the French nation and because of the situation in #SouthernCameroons I ask all my colleagues MP and diplomats that the situation in #Cameroon to be on the agenda of the next session of the #Security Council of the United Nations under American presidency,” writes Sebastien Nadot.
This is not the first time the politician is calling on his country to take action.
Sebastien Nadot, Member of the French Assembly for Haute Garonne in 2019 urged Nicolas de Riviere, Permanent French Ambassador to the UN to seek for an independent fact-finding mission to be sent to Cameroon. This, he said, would permit the body to establish reports of rights abuses.
To him, peace returning to Cameroon is not only in the interest of the country but also that of France.
