Waspito, a pioneering medical tech app, recently received a significant boost when French President Emmanuel Macron used its teleconsultation service during the Francotech event in Paris, France. Jean Lobe Lobe, CEO of Waspito, was in attendance, showcasing the platform’s capabilities to an international audience.
Expressing his gratitude, Jean Lobe Lobe said the moment marked a major milestone for Waspito, which is working to revolutionise healthcare access in Africa through innovative digital solutions. “During the presentation, President Macron tested the platform’s teleconsultation feature and was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency of the service. In a live video call, he witnessed how a doctor instantly answered the call, demonstrating the platform’s responsiveness and service quality,” Lobe Lobe stated.
President Macron praised the innovation, acknowledging how Waspito’s technology is making healthcare more accessible, particularly in regions with limited resources. The app’s simplicity of use impressed Macron as he toured the Francotech event. With just one click, he was connected with a medical doctor, who was ready to respond in real-time.
“The positive feedback from the French president underscores the startup’s growth potential and its ability to bring innovative healthcare solutions to the international stage,” Waspito shared in a press release. “Waspito encourages all African entrepreneurs to believe in their potential and to continue aiming higher together.”

Waspito’s participation in the Francotech event, and its opportunity to engage with President Macron, were made possible through support from Jerome Hanique, CEO of Orange Ventures and Orange Digital Centre Cameroon. Hanique’s continued backing has been crucial in the startup’s mission to expand and transform healthcare access in Africa.
The interaction with the French President reinforces Waspito’s vision for the future of digital healthcare on the continent.
