FSLC: Authorities attribute positive results to hitch-free school year

The North West Regional Delegate for Basic Education has lauded parents and teachers for a “significant improvement” in performance at this year’s First School Leaving Certificate Examination.

Wilfred Wambeng, Basic Education regional boss credits this year’s performance on the robust efforts put in by teachers and the learners’ readiness to succeed. “The difficulties this year have been minimized,” Mr Wambeng said, attributing the successful outcome to the resilience of learners and teachers amid the ongoing Anglophone crisis in Cameroon.

Over 15,000 candidates sat for the exams with over 14,000 scoring a pass mark.

The regional delegate in a release Monday, July 26, informed the public that complete results are available at all Basic Education Inspectorates and Divisional Delegations in the region as well as all Regional Delegations of Basic Education as well as the ministry in Yaoundé.

661 primary schools participated in the examination in the North West region this year. The results for the Northwest were made known Monday after those of other regions were published over the weekend.
