Reports from Fundong, headquarters of Boyo division and Nkambe, capital of Donga Mantung divisions have stood out as exemplary divisional capitals in the entire Northwest region today.

The two subdivisions have simply gone about normal life today despite the two-week lockdown called by Ambazonian Diaspora leaders.

In Nkambe ,schools are going on well, shops are open and markets and the park are busy.

It is the same scenario in Fundong as economic life goes on undeterred unlike Mezam, Bui, Momo and Menchum divisions.

According to Desmond in Nkambe, he is not even aware that something like lockdown has been announced.

“I sent my kids to school this morning and I’m in my shop looking for my daily bread. I do not like ghost towns or lockdowns. Anybody calling for such is just wicked,” he said.

In Fundong, Tosam says she just returned from the market where she got her groceries for the day.

“I was initially scared that the town will not open. Very early in the morning, I tiptoed out and was amazed to see everyone opening their shops and business places. I rushed to the market and it was open. I’m happy I have got my groceries for the day. I pray everything remains normal like this,” she said.

The elite of this town have been credited with this realization that incessant lockdowns, ghost towns are just outdated strategies that can only cause more pain and suffering than good t the people. Like its said, when good leaders lead, the people follow.
