The mayor of the Fundong Council, Denis Awoh Ndang has disclosed that in the first half of 2021, the council has rehabilitated two classrooms, installed street lights, and electrified the Fundong District Hospital with solar energy.

During the council’s mid-term evaluation session that took place Saturday, September 3, 2021, mayor Denis Awoh Ndang revealed that more projects would have been completed if contractors respected contract terms.

The greatest difficulty faced by the Fundong Municipality is the Fundong-Konene road project and two bridges at Akeh to be constructed which have not been realized.

Projects envisaged for this year include electrification of Fundong village, Financial assistance to Common Initiative Groups, installation of Solar Street lights and security cameras, construction of modern toilets in Fundong market, rehabilitation of some classrooms, and a veterinary center to be funded by the Public Investment Budget.

At the end of the council session, Mayor Awoh Ndang Denis called on all to put hands together for a successful and effective school year 2021/2022 as normalcy is gradually taking its course in Fundong.

The Senior Divisional Officer for Boyo, Fidel Tegni used the opportunity to install the mayor into office alongside his deputies for their second term.
