Some enraged inhabitants of the city of Garoua in Cameroon’s North Region, burnt to death a bandit alongside a motorcycle which he supposedly stole.
The man was burnt alive by mostly motorcycle riders and taximen who caught him after an alarmed was raised.
Witnesses describe the horrible scene of watching a human being roast helplessly in flames, under the watchful eyes of passersby.
The police only got to the scene when it was too late for the 30-year-old and attempts to apprehend perpetrators of the burning were futile as they had already dispersed, leaving the bandit to struggle to death.
However, reports say the public attorney who also got to the scene has opened up investigations into the act of mob justice which is becoming persistent in the city of Garoua.
