Garoua: Long-Awaited Parcours Vita to be Inaugurated.

By Washira Helene

Garoua, the capital of the North Region of Cameroon, is finally getting its own parcours vita after Yaounde, Douala, Ngaoundere, and Bamenda. The long-awaited project is scheduled to be inaugurated on July 11, 2023.

The parcours vita is a 20-hectare facility that includes a variety of fitness equipment, as well as an area for children to play. It is located in the Garoua 1er arrondissement, near the Ngong-Azagoué road.

The construction of the parcours vita was a joint effort between the government of Cameroon and the Génie Militaire. The project cost an estimated 500 million CFA francs and kicked off last year, January 2022.

The inauguration of the complex is a major milestone for Garoua. It will provide a much-needed space for people to exercise and stay healthy. It will also be a popular destination for families and tourists.

This structure is just one of the many infrastructure projects that have been undertaken in Garoua in recent years. The city has also seen the construction of a new stadium, a new market, and a new road network.

These investments are helping to make Garoua a more attractive place to live, work, and visit. The inauguration is a further sign of the city’s progress, despite the challenges posed by Boko Haram insurgents.
