Government blames External Relations Ministry fire on short circuit

Cameroon’s Ministry of External Relations has officially reacted to the fire incident adjacent to the Ministry. The disaster happened yesterday September 25, 2022, in the early hours of the morning.

A statement from the External Relations Ministry has revealed that the fire was a result of an electrical short circuit. Fortunately enough, spontaneous actions were quickly taken to ensure that the damage caused by the fire was limited to the very least.

Nearby offices around were saved from the flames by the firefighters.

In the official statement by the Minister Delegate at the External Relation Ministry, Felix Mbayu, he revealed that extra measures have already been taken to ensure such disasters are minimized.

“Due deligence would be taken to ensure the required technical safety checks,” he remarked.

The incident meanwhile, hasn’t equally hampered the smooth running of the Ministry, as the statement also points out that its offices remain open to the service of the public.
