Government counts human loss after Wednesday’s accident at Pouma

Following a road accident along the Douala-Yaounde Highway last night, the Senior Divisional Officer for the Sanaga Maritime Division has made public a release indicating that the accident happened in a village called Ngwei 2 in Pouma Subdivision in the Sanaga Maritime Division of the Littoral Region.

A VIP Guaranti Bus matriculated CE 076 IG from Douala collided against a truck matriculated LT TR329 on high speed.

According to the SDO’s release, nine people died and the bodies have been deposited at the Edea hospital mortuary while eight wounded passengers are receiving medical attention at the Pouma Hospital.

The SDO requests families of victims who died to quickly get their bodies else the Edea council shall proceed with the burial for health reasons. According to the release most of the corpses have been pieced beyond recognition.

The SDO expresses condolences to affected families.
