Government halts direct integration of ENS, ENSET graduates

Graduates from government-owned higher teachers training institutions including ENS and ENSET will no longer get direct reintegration.

From 2023, they will no longer be made civil servants as before.

Going by new directives, they will have to do an integration competition.

This was recently revealed Hy Higher Education Minister Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo, following a session with his peer of the Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Joseph Le.

During their consultation meeting, it was agreed to consider the year 2022 as a “transitional” year during which the ministry of higher education will organize entrance examinations to ENS and ENSET.

They also decided to maintain acquired rights for students admitted until 2022, who will automatically be integrated into the public service at the end of their training.

From the year 2023, the ministry of higher education will continue to organize the entrance examinations into the ENS and ENSET, while the ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reforms will organize direct competitions for the integration of ENS and ENSET graduates into the State civil service.

This will be done, taking into account the needs expressed by the ministry of secondary Education as well as budgetary availability.

Another provision made, that of introducing into the training curricula of ENS and ENSET from the academic year 2022-2023, teaching units relating to administrative law, or civil service law as well as ethics. and administrative ethics.

Many have lauded the initiative noting that it may reduce the level of corruption which often characterizes the entry.

Some have recommended that same be done for the higher institution of administration and magistracy, ENAM.
