Political parties have been invited to contribute ideas on how to tackle the spread of coronavirus pandemic in Cameroon. This comes when the number of coronavirus cases stands at over 680 with nine deaths.
In a meeting to be chaired by the Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute beginning at 1:00pm Thursday April 9th 2020, political parties invited have been called go along with written proposals on how to fight against coronavirus.
In a message posted on his twitter account, Cabral Libii, leader of the Cameroon National Reconciliation Party (PCRN) says at last government has thought it necessary to invite political parties after several calls.
The actions follows several criticisms of the regime of president Paul Biya for not soliciting the expertise of political parties that equally have militants and sympathizers they can influence to respect coronavirus preventive measures.
The meeting to seek assistance of political party comes when government has banned an initiative of the Cameroon Reinassance Movement political party to raise funds and assist Cameroonians in the fight against the pandemic.
