The government has threatened to take measures against teachers who have decided to boycott official exams currently written throughout the nation.
With the start of official exams, some teachers have reportedly followed the boycott slogan launched by the OTS movement.
In the Coastal region, the start of exams such as the technical baccalaureate gave rise to the realization that some teachers are dodging the supervision of exams.
This same observation has been made by the Regional Delegate for Secondary Education.
In a correspondence sent to the heads of examination centers and sub-centers in the region, under the cover of the departmental delegates of MINESEC, Guillaume Edjang writes ” Information that reaches me from a credible source at the end of the first day of the examinations of technical education, it appears that teachers whom you have regularly called have chosen for some of them not to perform the duties of examination room supervisors, which puts the heads of sub-centres in difficulty and constitutes serious professional misconduct”
Taking into consideration the said observations made, the regional delegate for secondary education has announced a series of measures.
Each head sub-center will be required to send within 48 hours after the start of each examination, the list of teachers summoned, the certified attendance sheet at the preparatory meeting, the list of teaches absent from the examination romps, written request for explanation to absent teachers and their responses.
The request from the regional official clearly revealed a desire to suppress the members of the OTS movement.
It should be noted that the Minister of Territorial Administration had earlier demanded the arrest of the leaders of this movement, who believe that the public authorities are lax in the promises of the normalization of the living and working conditions of teachers in Cameroon.
