Governor Suspends Inter-urban Movements As Search For Kidnapped Students Intensifies

Morth West Governor, Adolphe Lele L’Afrique has in a communiqué prohibited movement of vehicles within subdivisions in Mezam Division and from one division to another within the north west region.

The document states: “considering the present security challenges of the region and the need to facilitate search operations with respect to some kidnapped students”.

The North West Region has since the escalation of the crisis witness acts of arson, abduction among others. The most recent is the abduction of student from a conventional school.

Movement of persons is however not prohibited within Bamenda I, II, and III subdivisions.

It should be noted that the region has be observing curfew from 6:00pm to 6:00am which was enforced by the governor till further notice.
