Cameroon’s Head of State, President Paul Biya has ordered the immediate disbursement of 1 billion FCFA. The sum is meant for Muslims who will be heading for the Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The decision is contained in a decision by the Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, signed today May 31, 2022.
The decision follows another which had moved for air tickets prices to be reduced, and the pilgrims’ luggages transported for free.
It also comes amidst a fiesty few days between the Muslim pilgrims and the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji.
The pilgrims had initially threatened to boycott the Hajj this year, citing exorbitant costs demanded for the decision.
