Guinness World Record - Hilda Baci and Dammy Pass
Hilda Bassey, (Baci) who is still waiting to officially receive the Guinness World Records crown for the longest time spent cooking, has sent words of encouragement to Chef Dammy Pass, who has embarked on a journey to overtake her.
“The beauty of dreams is that they are unique to each individual. Dami, your boldness to take on a cooking challenge shows that passion knows no limits. Embrace the journey, learn from every experience, and inspire others with your unwavering spirit,” Hilda wrote in a post that has now gone viral on Twitter.
Dammy Pass started cooking on Friday and has her eyes set on reaching 120 hours.
The current longest cooking record is still held by Indian chef Lata Tondon, who set a time of 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019.
Bassey’s time will need to be certified by Guinness World Record officials before it can be made official.
She has already completed over eighty hours in a cooking marathon — aimed at beating the record of Hilda Bassey, who cooked non-stop for 100 hours.
However, pending Hilda’s certification, another 8 hours of cooking by Chef Pass will effectively overtake the current official record.
