Honouring the First Graduating Class of Marc Vivien Foe Health Sciences Training Complex

The graduation ceremony of the first class of General Nursing Assistants (ASG) at the Marc Vivien Foe Health Sciences Training Complex (CFSS) was presided over by the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Manaouda Malachie, on Thursday, June 26, 2024.

In her welcome address, Mrs. Marie Louise Foe, the founder of the complex, expressed her sincere appreciation to the President of the Republic and the Government of Cameroon. She acknowledged the agreement received, which has enabled her to fulfil two important aspirations: honouring the memory of her late husband and passing on knowledge and expertise to the younger generation. The main goal of the Marc Vivien Foe Health Sciences Training Complex (CFSS), as emphasised, is to provide its students with high-quality training.

After the successful opening of this complex in October 2022, the promoter expressed sincere gratitude to the government for their unwavering support. She also took the opportunity to call upon anyone who can contribute to this project to lend their support.

The ceremony proceeded with the distribution of end-of-training certificates to the 37 graduates of this inaugural class, along with special awards for the top performers.

The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Manaouda Malachie, expressed his contentment with the medical and paramedical personnel training school, stating that it fulfils all the necessary requirements. According to the individual, the training is designed to develop the learner and equip them with valuable skills in the healthcare administration field. The Minister of Health commended the founder for their tireless efforts in bringing this project to fruition. He then assured her that he would always be prepared to accompany and support this endeavour. Regarding the graduates of this inaugural class, Cameroon has high expectations for you to enhance the quality of healthcare services. Embrace the lessons received with passion and dedication, and put them into practice diligently. Above all, remember to approach your work with a genuine sense of humanity and warmth. Let your love and passion shine through in everything you do,” he advised them.

Finally, the Minister of Public Health expressed their well wishes for the success of this promising institution and also extended their congratulations to the graduates. Nevertheless, he made sure to acknowledge the esteemed individuals from the Government who were in attendance, adding to the grandeur of the event.

The ceremony, organised by Mrs. Madeleine Sopi Kotto, Central Director of the CRTV, was attended by various ministers, including the Minister of Labour and Social Security, the Minister of Employment, Vocational Training, and the Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of the Social Economy and Crafts, along with other officials and colleagues of the Minister of Public Health.
