Hundreds stranded as Bamenda-Babadjou road in deplorable condition again

Hundreds of travellers along the road linking Bamenda in the North Babadjou in the West region spent hours on the stretch this weekend due to its poor nature.

The stretch which has for many years now remained barely passable found its limits tested again, following heavy rains.

“… since yesterday [Saturday] afternoon, hundreds of cars that left Bamenda yesterday afternoon to Yaoundé and Douala are Still stuck here,” one traveller recounted.

Their vehicle at the time, had been stuck in the mud for close to six hours and showed little signs of any progress.

For many years today, authorities have diced with the stretch, making endless promises.

The most recent was the Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute who visited Bamenda months ago.

During the visit, he promised works on the road were imminent, but till date, it remains untouched.
