The administrative authority has contrary to earlier reports said he was happy after getting word of his appointment as the new Senior divisional officer of Lebialem, one of the separatist strongholds in the Anglophone regions.
“I almost fainted because of joy, I almost collapsed because the emotions were too much for me to bear
Mungambo Ekema William said. “I was happy that I have been given the privilege to serve my country” he added.
“Lebialem is part of the national territory” he said noting that he is happy to serve “no matter where we are called to work”.
“I thank God for the possibility to be appointed and I say thank you to his Excellency Paul Biya for the confidence bestowed upon me” he went on.
Being one of the strong holds of separatist fighters in the English speaking regions and home to leaders such as Field Marshal, many say working in the area will be a daunting task for Mungambo Ekema William.
