“I am a military man and not a businessman” – Nkambe Gendarmerie Commander

Commander Danzabe Henri of the gendarmerie brigade in Nkambe, Donga Mantung Division has distanced himself from allegations of carrying out dubious activities in the town aimed at implicating legal business men.

Writing to Mimi Mefo Info on WhatsApp Sunday June 14th 2020, he writes” I stand against the fact that some of those who sell fuel in Nkambe sell to ambazonian boys in Kumbo. The terrorists use the fuel to carry out attacks on the military and civilians. “

Commander Danzabe Henri denies allegations that he arrested ten men who sell fuel in Nkambe last week just to secure his monopoly in the business. “I am a military man and not a business man. But people cannot be allowed to sell fuel to terrorists that use the fuel to attack and run away. If fuel goes to Kumbo, it therefore means my work of security in Nkambe for two years is zero.”

Last week, some inhabitants of Nkambe testified how the commander in question has seemingly abandoned his duty as a military man while using his position to expand business activities to the detriment of legalised business men and women.

The Senior Divisional Officer for Donga Mantung Division regretted such unprofessional activities of the military commander saying “…I have called him to order not to cause problem to the peace loving people of Nkambe and Donga Mantung Division as a whole. When commander Danzabe Henri had the monopoly of selling fuel, he sold a litter for 1000f . That was exploitation. I had to step in and regulate the sector with the permission of my hierarchy “

At the moment, there is still fear in Nkambe that the Brigarde Commander is scheming ways to implicate people released last week on the instructions of the senior divisional officer.
