I am not a candidate for municipal election-Shey Anthony, former SDF militant

The life of Shey Anthony, a native of Bui division in the North West region of Cameroon is at risk of death.

The name of the former militant of the Social Democratic Front party has featured prominently on a list of over four hundred names of supposed “betrayals” published by “Bui Warrior” (a group of militiamen fighting for the restoration of Ambazonia statehood).

In an exclusive interview granted to Canal 2 Television Wednesday December 17th,Shey Anthony said “I resigned from the SDF party and politics in general long ago. I am shock the SDF decided to include my name as one of the candidates for the municipal election next year 2020. He who inserted my name on the list of candidates should remove it”.

He attests that he has never told the SDF party that he wants to be a councilor.

Questioned why he does not want to run for election, Shey Anthony questions “…how can I run for election at this period when they are killing people every day? I am in total tears for my relatives and friends that have been killed. I will never militate in any political party”.

Attempts by Mimi Mefo Info to get the reaction of Njong Evaristus, Chairman of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) in the North West region have so far not yielded fruits.

Shey Anthony is today calling on the Social democratic Front (SDF) to remove his name “from their election issues” while explaining his innocence to restoration forces that are targeting for a crime he says he has not committed.
