The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji is in the East Region for a two-day visit.
The mission of his journey to the East is to reportedly distribute President Paul Biya’s humanitarian aid to the refugees and IDPs in the region.
On the night of his arrival, however, he was welcomed by a host of waiting IDPs in the region who were left rather rattled and unimpressed at the treatment accorded to them during the minister’s visit.
“…we went there to welcome him and we left with nothing. From 8 am to 10 pm, we had no food to eat, going from Bonus Hotel Mansa and then to the governor’s office then back to the hotel with nothing…,” lamented an IDP who was present at the scene.
He also mentioned that when they complained about it to the authorities present, they nonchalantly told them off.
“They asked us who had invited us to the Governor’s house and then told us to go… Some with no transportation money had to trek home. I am shocked to see on social media that we received gifts,” he said.
