The iconic Italia’90 legend was speaking at a press conference at the Japoma Stadium in Douala on October 17, 2021.
In the press conference, Albert Roger Milla mentioned that it was his wish, along with the entire population of Japoma, his hometown, to see the gigantic stadium named after him before the AFCON2022 kick-off in January.
The Cameroonian football icon was part of a delegation of former players accompanying the Minister of State, Secretary-General at the Presidency, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh as he toured AFCON2022 host sites.
Sent on instructions of the Head of State, H.E. Paul Biya, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh is expected to visit all host sites in all host towns and assess their readiness to host the tournament as the competition Kick-off approaches.
The delegation accompanying the Secretary-General consist of former players such as Joseph Antoine, Roger Milla, Samuel Eto’o, Rigobert Song, Eugène Ekeke, Ndip Akem, Geremi Njitap, El Hadji Diouf, Patrick Mboma, Alioum Boukar, Gaëlle Enganamouit, and Grégoire Mbida.
