Idriss Deby Demise: France gives official reaction

Following the death of the president of the Republic of Chad, the French government has reacted officially through its president to the death of the Central African nation’s president.

In a condolence letter addressed to the people of Chad, the French Presidency, Elysee wrote: “It is with great sadness and emotion that France learnt of the demise of the President of Chad, H.E Idriss Deby Itno on April 20, 2021. We present our sincere condolences to the people of Chad…”

France also added that the Chadian people will indeed miss a statesman who did everything to protect the country.

The communiqué sent out by the Elysee equally revealed that France has in unison with Chadian authorities placed a military Commission to aid in transition for the time being in Chad.

It also outlined the need for political transition in the country to go through in the most peaceful means and in a spirit of dialogue with civil political figures.
