Imminent chaos in Nso Land

There is total uncertainty in Nso land, Bui Division of the North West region of Cameroon.
Five days after the kidnapping of the paramount traditional ruler of the land, His Royal Highness Sehm Mbinglo II remains in the hands of people who identify themselves as separatist fighters.

In a message circulating on the social media, some people in Bui division have promised what they call “…dangerous lock down. ..” if the Fon is not released by the end of Tuesday November 10th 2020.

The message accuses Nso highest and most respected secret society; the ‘Nwerong’ of “…colaborating with separatist to kidnap Fon Sehm Mbinglo II”. Disappointed by the efforts used by the government to ensure the release of the Fon, the people of Nso have promised to engage in a fierce battle with all separatist fighters in Bui division.

Given that the Fon of Nso Land was ‘arrested’ and is being detained in Baba village in Babesi subdivision, the people of Nso are pointing accusing fingers at the Baba community for working together with Ambazonia restoration forces to humiliate the people of Nso by capturing and detaining the fon for several days.

Last month, the ‘Nwerong’, Nso’s secret society, in the process of cleansing the community ahead of the arrival of the traditional ruler denounced Sehm Mbinglo II’s involvement in political issues in Cameroon. The secret society, keen on upholding the culture and tradition of the people, stated that the involvement of the Fon in politics will undermine the culture and tradition of the people.

Fon Sehm Mbinglo II , Christian Cardinal Tumi and others were kidnapped in Baba village on the 5th of November on their way to Kumbo from Bamenda. Cardinal Tumi was released on November 6th but the Fon remains in captivity.

In a video released at the weekend by separatists, an interrogation process is shown with the Fon answering questions from the separatists.
The boys are reported to be demanding the release of Sisiku Ayuk Tabe Julius and other issues before the release of the Fon.
