Improvised Explosive kills little Angel Ngum

A little girl, Angel Mgum has died in a hospital in Mutengene, South West Region of Cameroon, less than twenty-four hours after her hands were chopped off following an explosion.

According to a source in Kumba, Meme Division in the South West Region of Cameroon, a locally made device exploded as the child was trying to crack coconut at Kossala quarter at Kumba 2 subdivision Thursday, March 25, 2021.

She was rushed to the Kumba district hospital and later evacuated to Mutengene for intensive medical attention where she died.

The Senior Divisional Officer of Meme Division, Chamberlain Ntou’ou Ndong while visiting the child in the hospital promised a military hunt of perpetrators of the act.

The planting of explosives devices in public places have been frequent in the North West and South West regions and often attributed to boys fighting for the restoration of the state of Ambazonia.
