The boycott campaign against poor telecoms services offered by MTN and Orange networks in Cameroon is far from ending.

Initiators of the campaign who are mostly social media influencers are multiplying calls for boycotts to pressure the network companies to improve their services.

Most telephone users say the services of the networks are not only poor but exploitative.

Flyers have been flooding social media urging users to switch to fly mode in protest.

One of the flyers MMI stumbled on said, “Total boycott of Orange services from 8-14 2023.”

It should be recalled that the boycott campaign was launched on April 24, 2023, in a bid to oblige these telecommunications operators to improve the quality of call and Internet services and reduce the costs of mobile telephony, Internet, money transfer, and mobile payment.

Telecommunications services have not improved since then.

A meeting convened by Post and Telecommunications minister as a result of the protest failed to yield the most needed results as users keep complaining and boycott calls have multiplied.
