Intermediate Lions qualify for 2023 African Nations Championship

Cameroon’s Intermediate Lions have qualified for the upcoming 2023 African Nations Championship, following a deserved victory over Equatorial Guinea.

In a match, played yesterday September 4, in Garoua, the intermediate Lions were able to see off Equatorial Guinea with a convincing score of 2-0.

Having lost the first fixture by 1-0, the Lions had to score at least two goals without conceding any to win the tie on aggregate, an exploit which they which was made possible thanks to Djawal Kaïba and Marou Souaibou.

Cameroon, therefore, features on the list of the 18 qualified countries to participate in the 2023 African Nations Championship.

The 2023 African Nations Championship, to be hosted by Algeria, will take place next year, in January.
