Cameroon’s Intermediate Lions travel to the South West Region of Cameroon today Monday, February 1st, 2021 ahead of their semi-final match against Morocco this Wednesday, February 3rd.
A source in the Lions’ den says it remains unclear if the delegation will lodge in Limbe, capital of Fako Division or Buea, capital of the South West Region.
Before the start of the African Nations Championship on January 16th, separatists fighting for the restoration of Ambazonia statehood imposed a lockdown threatening to use violence to disrupt matches.
Two locally-made bombs have so far exploded in Limbe in different locations since the beginning of the championship with separatists accused of committing the act.
Ahead of Wednesday’s match, inhabitants of Limbe say military men both in uniform and in civilian wear have been deployed in the touristic city of Limbe to maintain peace.
The match against Morocco will start at 8:00pm.
