“Kylian Mbappe’s Father wanted him to play for the Indomitable Lions” – Coach António Conceição

In a much regretful tone, the National Team Coach, António Conceiçao has taken a look at a great miss that the national team made in the case of now French International, Kylian Mbappe.

Coach Conceção in an interview with ’90 Min’ re-echoes the fact that despite the prodigy now donning the colors of the French National Team, what his father wished for him was to represent his country of origin by playing with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

“Kylian Mbappé’s father wanted him to play with the Indomitable Lions,” he stated.

Given the Indomitable Lions complete lack of firepower and a star name to replicate the successes and performances of Samuel Eto’o Fils since his retirement, many Cameroonians are still at a loss as to how Cameroon, with such a rich footballing history and all the cards to play could let such worthy successor slip pass them.

At just the age of 22, Kylian Mbappe has proven on the world stage just how endowed and efficient his talent is.

Adding to his daily exploits in the French Ligue 1, he is already a World Cup winner with France, something which would be near impossible was he to play for the Indomitable Lions.

His daily performances for his French club, Paris Saint Germain, and for France are a complete package of what Cameroon lacks in the Youngster
