International Day of Peace 2021: PCC celebrates as separatists ‘ban’ Church activities in Bali

Separatist fighters in Bali, Mezam Division, North West region of Cameroon in a voice note circulated on social media say they have “banned” the activities of the Presbyterian Church in Bali, calling for the resignation of the Moderator of the church.

The attack on the church in Bali comes at the time when the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, through it’s Peace Office has launched commemorative activities to mark the 2021 edition of the International Day of Peace. The launching took place Sunday September 5, 2021 at PCC Musang.

Preaching from the book of Exodus 4:10-17, Rev Nta William Nche, PCC National Peace Coordinator stressed on the need for all and sundry to join the PCC in the crusade for true Peace and Justice.

Celebrating this year under the theme “Recovering better for a Sustainable and Equitable World”, the PCC Peace crusaders used yesterday’s launching to remind the Christians and population of the North West region to put aside fear and embrace Peace for a better North West region and Cameroon.

In his message to all PCC Christians on the International Day of Peace, the Moderator of the PCC, Rt Rev Fonki Samuel Forba, called on the the Christians to pray for peace, sing for peace and cry for justice and peace.

The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly. During the day, the United Nations invites all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities and to otherwise commemorate the Day through education and public awareness on issues related to peace.
