A Nationwide state of emergency has been declared in Ethiopia, to tackle possible security threats against the capital city Addis Ababa.
The calls came after the Tigryan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), a northern militia movement that claims to have captured two main cities on the road leading to the capital city of Ethiopia-Addis Ababa.
According to Reuters, as a result of TPLF’s claims, Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmad issued a distress call on inhabitants, asking them to register their arms and brace up to defend the land over a conflict that has marked just a year old.
It should be noted that many international communities including The US have called on The Ethiopian government to end the conflicts, even issuing threats of sanctions, which according to the US could come sooner than later.
