Some youth in Bamenda have recommended that government should make available grants for entrepreneurs in the North West region to boost their businesses which will enable them to create employment for others.
On the occasion of the African Youth Day observed Monday, November 1, 2021, some established young persons in the region challenged their peers to shun the white-collar job mentality and embrace income-generating activities.
According to statistics from the North West office for the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises, at least 50 SMEs are created monthly, over 70 others have relocated due to the current crisis.
Some young entrepreneurs who are present despite the crisis are convinced the region can progress if the government gives them financial support.
The wish of most youth in Bamenda is for a return to normalcy so that socio-economic growth and sustainable development can take place in the region.
