Joshua Osih voted chairman of the Social Democratic Front.

The Social Democratic Front party has elected Honourable Joshua Osih as its chairman.

Joshua Osih succeeded Ni John Fru Ndi as the chairman of the Social Democratic Front party.

He secured 62.9% of the total votes cast, while his opponents, Gordon Zama and Chewa, each received 13.9% and 23.2% of the votes, respectively.

The attendees of the SDF convention held in Yaounde cast a total of 1565 valid votes.

Osih insisted in his campaign speech that the party needed ‘serious’ leadership that would help provide a new future for the country.

“I want to tell you that this party is a serious party and a serious party needs serious leadership. Let us all have that in our minds when we come down and vote because what is happening today in this place will likely shape the future of Cameroon in 2025,” he said.

Osih competed against two other candidates – Godden Zama and Shewa David. The party has voted him as its second chairman since its creation.

Who is Joshua Osih?

Cameroonian father Rev. Dr. Reuben Osih and Swiss national mother Therese Osih gave birth to Joshua Osih. Joshua, commonly referred to as Josh, is married to Tina Osih and has three sons.

Osih earned an MBA in Leadership and Sustainability and has accumulated over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry, particularly in operations and management. He has been an established entrepreneur in Cameroon for the past 18 years, conducting business in aviation, ecotourism, hospitality, and aquaculture, with over 200 employees. Additionally, he oversees the Finance and Administration sectors of the executive. He holds the position of Deputy General Rapporteur in charge of state income, serves as Vice Coordinator of the Hope for the Youth caucus, and is a member of multiple parliamentary friendship groups.
