The Desk Editor of The Voice Newspaper, Beng Humphrey Fang, was found dead in his Yaounde residence this morning under unclear circumstances.

The young and vibrant reporter, who first worked with The Rambler before securing a Desk Editor job at The Voice, was confirmed dead at the Etoug Ebe Hospital in Yaounde.

Several sources confirmed his death, including popular blogger Maybelle Boma, who worked closely with Humphrey to promote the Toghu traditional attire.

Beng Humphrey died hours after returning from his village, Weh, in Menchum Division of the North West, where he had reportedly gone to visit his parents.

He returned to his Yaounde home last evening, ate roasted fish and was found motionless this morning. He was later confirmed dead at the hospital.

Prior to his death, Beng Humphrey was serving as Communication Director of local non-governmental organization, Mami De Bolonial Foundation.

The foundation paid heartfelt tribute to the young journalist in a Facebook post.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our Communication Director, Beng Humphrey, whose dedication and passion helped amplify the mission of the Mammi De Bolonial Foundation.

“His exceptional skills and commitment to storytelling enabled us to share our impact with the world,” the foundation wrote.

Senior Journalist Mua Paul, in a Facebook post, also expressed immense sadness over the journalist’s sudden demise.
