“The sponsors of such projects must come forward and take full responsibility,” Kamto wrote on his official Facebook page.
He said the Cameroon Renaissance Movement “is not organising any demonstration in front of the US Embassy Yaounde or elsewhere in the world. It is not organising any demonstration in front of the embassy of any country.”
Hundreds of protesters, believed to be Kamto’s supporters were on the streets of Paris on Saturday, July 3, brandishing the Cameroonian and Ambazonian flags and calling for an end to the Anglophone Crisis.
They were calling on the Yaounde Government to resolve the crisis in the North West and South West, where at least 4,000 people have been killed.
After losing the 2018 Presidential elections, Maurice Kamto’s CRM party has partnered with other opposition parties in Cameroon and now represents the strongest political opposition to long-serving President Paul Biya’s government.
He has been outspoken on the need for government to end the Anglophone Crisis, and has strongly criticised recent corruption scandals in government.
