‘Keep Bamenda Clean’ campaign to resume, hold on Mondays

Heads of neighborhoods within the Bamenda I, II, and III municipalities have agreed to mobilize their people and use Mondays as days of general cleanups to ensure that the entire city is clean.

They took the commitment Wednesday, November 3, 2021, in a meeting organized by the mayor of the Bamenda City Council Paul Achombong.

City mayor Paul Achombong complained that the garbage situation in the city is deplorable and needs immediate attention.

He called on the heads of the various neighborhoods to take on the responsibility to clean the quarters since the equipment of the waste disposal company was vandalized and staff molested.

“That’s why we are coming out with this strategy and we want to see that everyone comes out and it becomes a collective battle against waste”, he said.

Paul Achombong assured the heads of the neighborhoods that the city council will make provision for equipment to clear the garbage once every month.
