Kolofata: Over 50 Boko Haram fighters surrender

Reports say at least 50 members of the notorious Boko Haram Terrorist group have dropped their weapons and surrendered themselves to the vigilante in Kolofata, Far North region of Cameroon.

Corroborating sources also reveal that these fighters who are mostly Nigerians, gave them themselves up to the vigilante group in Kolofata in separate instances.

As of now however, there has been no official statement by any local authority in the Far North Region affirming or negating these claims.

The population of the Far North Region remains in insecurity regardless, from the same terrorist group. The Boko Haram has instilled fear and terror in the Far North Region since 2009.

Thousands of Cameroonians have been killed by these terrorists through village raids, ambushes, kidnappings and above all suicide bombings.

Far North Region inhabitants have for long craved for reinforced security from the state, which has rather focused more of its strength towards the Northwest and Southwest regions in a bid to quel the Anglophone Crises
