Residents of Mataba in the Noun Division of Cameroon have decried inconsistent power supply by Cameroon’s national electricity integrated utility, ENEO which they have described as “detrimental.”

According to a resident of Mataba, “the village is constantly plunged into darkness. Eneo only gives us light 6 times a month,”

The voltage high tension poles according to our source are always on the rise — and they easily fall when it is windy.

“When we call them to repair the poles Eneo workers insist that we must fuel their cars,” said our source.

Villagers have not stopped receiving high bills from ENEO amid these challenges.

They say they have been going through this ordeal for the past three years and are calling on the government to provide solutions.

“Patients are suffering the most as it’s now impossible to preserve medications in fridges. Everything in our fridges are bad, businesses on a standtill. We are tired and we don’t know how long we will be able to carry on with this,” explained our source.
