Kumba 1 DO Imposes Dusk-to-dawn Curfew on Drinking Spots

Saffo Roger, Divisional Officer of Kumba I Subdivision, has restricted the operations of drinking spots between 7:00pm and 6:00am.

The announcement, dated September 21 2018, calls on the proprietors of drinking spots and the inhabitants of Kumba I to respect this order under pain of facing administrative sanctions.

The move is linked to the ongoing conflict in the North West and South West regions, especially ahead of the October 7, 2018 polls.

On Friday, the DO for Tiko sub-division imposed a similar curfew in his area of command. The same order banned the circulation of motorbikes at night and ordered for the closure of maritime borders.

The ban on the movement of persons and vehicles at night has been in existence in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon for close to one year ago.
