Kumbo: Military retaliates against the population after killing of alleged “juju man” who aided their operations

Days back, soldiers began invading villages around Kumbo in the Bui Division, North West Region, leaving residents in fear. After several raids, they met with a first setback that saw the death of a soldier in Mbve.

With the raid still ongoing in other villages, the “military has been breaking into homes at Mbve since 6:00AM and arbitrarily arresting women, men and children and torturing them” a local says.

With about 100 persons arrested, “the women and children and women have been seriously beaten and released” he says adding that “the men are being severely beaten at the Mbve market square right now as the military continues breaking into other homes.”

The action he suggests “should be in anger against the killing of Musa their juju man over the weekend.”

Sources say, Musa was from the North Region and had been aiding the soldiers with charms that made their raids easier.
